“The Appearance of First Light”

 Is about new beginnings, growth and fresh new perspectives. I have created pieces in both the natural sense with fresh blooms of florals, towering birch trees and the sweet sensibilities of birds through the use of encaustic mediums in the hopes to show a soft, luminosity of the organic world as if seeing it for the first time. Furthermore, metaphorically speaking, I have created a small series of oil paintings that also represent the ideas of new beginnings and re-birth from my perspective as an artist and the challenges, obstacles and creative ideas that come with that. As a whole, my hope is to introduce myself as A. Dawn, “Dawn” referring to the ‘First Light’ and essentially the beginning of my art career as a passionate artist, stepping openly into a new day and a new beginning.
